COMPENSATION (Pay Scale, annually):  

  • Firefighter trainee:  $65,465
  • Firefighter I – Firefighter V:  $73,046 - $85,761
  • Engineer I – Engineer III:  $89,271 - $96,762
  • Captain I – Captain III:   $100,785 - $109,125
  • Battalion Chief I – Battalion Chief III:  $113,691 - $125,806

  • Intermediate Firefighter certification - $95.00
  • Advanced Firefighter certification - $120.00
  • Master Firefighter certification - $150.00
  • Associate’s Degree in Fire Science - $100.00
  • Bachelor’s Degree - $145.00
  • AEMT - $110.00
  • Paramedic - $185.00
  • Intermediate Instructor - $20.00
    (All compensation listed is monthly) 

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Possess all applicable certification and licenses required:
    • High school diploma/GED
    • TCFP basic certification
    • EMT basic certification (AEMT preferred) 
  • Successfully complete the Civil Service exam
  • Successfully complete the physical agility testing
  • Complete application forms and provide necessary documentation
  • Participate in interview board process
  • Participate in interview with Fire Chief
  • Successfully complete pre-employment physical and drug testing
  • Accept conditional job offer
  • Must not have reached the age of 36 prior to employment 
  • Ability to perform under pressure and in adverse conditions
